Silpat Giveaway!

For Christmas I got many beautiful, useful gifts, but none have been used as often as my new favorite kitchen mate. My Silpat baking mat. You may have noticed that I have been calling for the use of a Silpat in many of my recipes, and for good reason. This thin, silicone baking mat that is used in many professional kitchens.

In its simplest form, the Silpat frees you from having to use parchment paper or nonstick cooking spray when you bake. Which, if you're anything like me, will save you a bunch of money in the long run and will result in a whole lot of perfect cookies.

So today, because I love you all and because I feel guilty about calling for a Silpat in my recipes without giving you the opportunity to cook with one of your own, I'm giving away a Silpat Petit Jelly Roll Mat!

To enter, leave a comment below telling me about either a new blog you have discovered (I'm looking for things to add to my Google Reader) or a magazine you can't live without by Sunday, January 30 at 10 p.m.!

I will announce the winner on Monday morning and ship the Silpat to its new home.

Happy Friday!

Madison

Hi Madison!
So the incentive of possibly getting a Silpat (it's been on my Amazon wishlist for a few months now--glad that you find it so handy!) finally brought me out of hiding. :-)
I've been reading your blog for a few months now and I absolutely love it! Your photography is beautiful and your recipes all look so delcious!

One food blog that I recently started reading is "A cozy kitchen." http://www.acozykitchen.com/ The food photography is absolutely gorgeous and their recipes are great too! I highly recommend it.

By the way, congratulations on your engagement!! I was so excited when I read that post!
Have a great weekend!

Does it count if the magazine isn't food related? :) You know I love my People magazine. Hope you're having a great day, Mad!

Oooh yes please yes please! We love these things! And we cannot live without our Martha Stewart Living mag...we just can't. Don't try and make us. Oh and Us Weekly. Obvs. So we keep up to date with all the important news of the world.

Almost picked one of these up with a gift card yesterday! Would love to win one! I've recently started following the King Arthur Flour - Baking Banter blog. Lots of great bread recipes with plenty of sweets mixed in.

I just love to read Southern Living! I bake a lot and would love this mat :) I recently started reading http://oilandbutter.com regularly. Always something funny to read. And, you are always welcome to add my blog to your list too! (Sorry for the shameless plug!)

alana (at) the food said...

have you noticed that sometimes the silpat doesn't suit certain cookies/baked goods? for example, i don't like to make chocolate chip cookies on the silpat cuz they don't get that gooood crunchy browned bottom? maybe it's just me...

my fave mag is real simple (or InStyle) hands down.
new blog is:

All my favorite bloggers use a silpat and I'd love to too! Maybe it'll help my cookies come out looking more like yours :)

Two must read magazines...Real Simple and Whole Living.

Hi!
I just started reading your blog about month ago. I love it...and wish I would have found it sooner!

I read tons of food blogs...Joy the baker and Smitten Kitchen are at the top of the list!

I love this blog too...not a foodie blog but Daisy makes a TON of adorable stuff!
http://www.rufflesandstuff.com/

As for my fave magazines...ReadyMade. The Nest (I just moved in with my long term bf). And Jewelry Affair from Stampington & Company.

PS...I would really LOVE to win the silpat, I've been wanting one for a while now!

http://comfybelly.com/ is a new blog that I found. I LOVE their recipes! They use a lot of coconut and almond flour which I happen to LOVE!

Silpat!!
I've always wanted to have one!

A new blog I personally found is 'The Little Red House' on http://inthelittleredhouse.blogspot.com/
She has beautiful pictures, but most of all, I love the way the author writes and how she's thankful for all the little things in life that she has.

Lindsey @ DownwardFacingFoodie said...

One of these would be great!

I'm not sure if you're looking for just food blogs (because I'm sure we read the same ones, for the most part), but I also love home improvement/DIY blogs. One of my favorites is Bower Power (www.bowerpowerblog.com). Katie is insanely hilarious and makes everything look so easy! Plus, she's an amazing photographer.

As far as magazines, I can't wait for my Real Simple mag to get here - and mine came yesterday! :)

Since I'm making a big effort to eat mostly plants nowadays (although I will still have meat if the occasion warrants it), my favorite magazine right now is Vegetarian Times. I always find myself marking a bunch of recipes in every issue to try out.

I started following Ryan's Baking Blog (http://ryansbakingblog.com/) which I've found really interesting!

Great idea for a giveaway!

I registered for a couple when I got married, but no one bought them for me :( I've been meaning to just go buy one for myself, but the giveaway would work just as well!

I like the blog: http://butterpluscream.blogspot.com/
They have a lot of different recipes, and some of them are vegetarian :)

Great idea Madison! I have a friend who works at Williams-Sonoma who loves these Silpat mats too and she just picked one up for me. The magazine I like is The Food Network magazine. They have a great variety of recipes and food related articles :)

Hey Madison! Great giveaway - I've been wanting one of these!

As for blogs, I'm a fan of a blog called "House Tweaking," www.housetweaking.com. I like it because she's great at describing the "why" behind design. Sometimes, I'll know I like a room, but I can't always figure out all the little details that make it "tick." Since everyone's space is unique, she breaks it down and helps you to accomplish the "idea" in your own home. Not all posts are like that, but a good handful of them are. The rest of the blog is great too!

OMG I love my Mothers Silpat and I try to steal it every time I go to visit! I cannot live without Real Simple Magazine, as well as their daily emails! They give the best advice on cooking, decorating, and life!

This might be narcissistic, but I actually am in the process of creating my own food blog: http://wildveg.blogspot.com/. It may just be my paranoid self, but what a nerve-wrecking adventure! I've been wanting to do it for a long time, given my love of cooking and writing, and fianlly decided to take the plunge.
