I've know that lately I've been pretty quiet on the wedding front. So quiet, in fact, that maybe you forgot it's happening all together. Not to worry, it's still on. It's just that after thinking it over, I decided that I wanted the big day to be special and filled with lots of surprises for our guests, so the detail-sharing has been staying under wraps for the most part.
But today, I felt like talking wedding hair, since it seems to be the detail I think most about.
Lately I've been wearing my hair up for work almost every day. It's gotten to this point because I'm growing it out for that event in July called our wedding. Knowing that my dress is very classic with a beautiful back, I am sure that I want to wear my hair up. That, and the fact that I hate a bad hair day and wearing my hair down for hours in the middle of July is pretty much a recipe for disaster in my book.
Last month I met with the creator of my bridal 'do' so we could chat. I wanted to make sure she was aware of what I was hoping to achieve - and that it was, indeed, realistic. No fussy, tight, slicked-back hair for me. I'm hoping for something soft and romantic that hits at the nape of my neck.
Here are a few shots that have inspired me lately. (I'm sorry, I lost track of where I pulled all these from. Most likely StyleMePretty.com) Which is YOUR favorite?

I also looked at that second to last hair picture when picking out a hairstyle for my wedding! Wearing my hair up was one of the best decisions I made for the wedding. I actually was a little obsessed with my hair and wish I could recreate it myself:-)
Ha! Too funny - I used the second to last photo like you and Lauren! Mine wasn't quite as ornate - but I absolutely loved everything about it. One thing I asked my hair dresser (aka my sister-in-law) was that if my bangs got greasy/sweaty (and after an outdoor wedding, they do) that they could easily be pulled up and still look great - she did just that and I was so appreciative!
I love the last one with the braid! I think small braids on wedding days are beautiful!
I had a very "quiet" time during wedding planning too! We had gotten to a point where everything was almost done...so there was no news!
Hope it is going great! You're going to make a lovely bride! If you are interested I am having a great give away from Sweet Pea totes!

Love the 3rd and 4th- I agree, you want something pulled back, but light and flirty. I really like your hair in the pics you shared!
Love the first and last one, girl you are gorgeous..no matter what!
I agree, having your hair up is a great idea! Less to mess with, don't have to fight the heat and humidity as much, which as we all know is killer to pretty hair.
I like 2 and 4, but how your hair was in your picture was perfect.
I love the first and last - both are so soft and romantic. Perfect for the occasion! No wedding plans for me anytime soon but I've always thought I'd want my hair worn down. Now you have me thinking twice! : )
I'd advocate for something with a braid. As you point out, July is not super-awesome hair weather, and braids tend to only look more romantic as they wear throughout the day (one of my favorite things to do is braid a strand of pearls in; just bobby pin it at the start of the braid).
I am loving all this feedback! Thanks, everyone! I think that my favorite right now is the last one, but I'm not sure my hair is thick enough for a pretty, thick braid. Hopefully it is! :)
THe first and last one are my favorites...maybe add a big flower on the side? (something I have thought about for my future bridal hair hehe)
I like the one with the braid coming from the side into the lose "bun" at the nape of the neck. I think braids just add a touch of character to an updo.
Your hair is beautiful in your photos, you have so much volume. I'm jealous!
I like the last and first one. Mainly the last one for he braid:)
